On Lisa’s wishlist – hardworking jackets, smart layers and the must-have trousers to wear year-round

Lisa Ing Marinelli is a busy woman: an accomplished full-time lawyer, a super stylish influencer with more than 100k followers on Instagram, and a mum of two. No surprise, then, that she knows the secret to incredible outfits that will work hard for you from the office to dinner via school pickup and therest.

Lisa’s shopping edit includes office hero items that can be worn whatever the season, including khaki leather trousers you’ll live in all year around, to pieces that can be layered up to add texture and interest, like a cropped bomber jacket or a buttoned-up cardigan.

Layer, layer: Lisa’s office heroes

Khaki leather trousers create some edginess in an outfit without the harshness of black leather. This ankle-cropped version also gives an opportunity to show off fantastic boots.’

‘I love this chocolate brown jumper as the V-neck is great with a white T-shirt underneath. The cable knit creates a lot more texture to an outfit.’

‘I love cardigans as a really fun way to spruce up a crewneck. I’d layer this with a T-shirt underneath and a blazer on top.’

‘Cannot go wrong with a pair of high-waisted jeans. They are my absolute go-to in any season but especially during winter because the ankle length means I can show off some great loafers with socks.’

‘A good print will help break up a wardrobe full of neutrals. It adds a little bit of spice to any outfit.’

‘If you’re looking for a double-breasted coat, this camel version will really add a lot of shape to your wardrobe. I love a really good neutral.’

These trousers are a fantastic colour for winter and the fabric is very luxe. I would wear them with the matching double breasted blazer and interchange a variety of neutrals underneath to mix it up weekly.’

Double-breasted, slightly oversized blazers are a staple in my wardrobe. I love wearing this with an easy button-up white shirt or with jeans and a T-shirt for the casual evening look. Roll up the sleeves, especially if you’re a shortie like me – showing ankles and wrists makes you appear taller.’

‘Layer a cropped bomber under your big coat to create texture and interest. It will also double as a good spring jacket when the time comes.’

‘A really good way to create a more dramatic look in winter is having a huge scarf and tying it so it has a lot of volume up top around your head. You can then pair it with a longline coat to create proportionality.’

Cargo trousers are great for any season. Cinched hems mean you can tuck the trousers into boots for winter and then match them with mules for spring/summer.’

‘This is the colour of the season in a timeless shape. A really good coat will come in handy and once you’ve covered your neutral bases, I’d suggest trying a bold colour.’
